Cricket being one of the oldest games, started about hundred years ago back in the 16th century. The game originated in England but is now widely played all across the globe – Australia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, New Zealand and many other countries. Cricket has produced some of the finest players in its history. These legendary players have left an astounding mark in their career by playing outstandingly.

- Sir Don Bradman:
He has been widely known as the greatest test batsmen in the phase of cricket. Bradman’s test batting average which is that of 99.94 is statistically acknowledged as the greatest achievement of any sportsman in the sport. Bradman consistently performed exceedingly well and got himself being called “worth three batsmen to Australia” by former Australian captain, Bill Woodfull.
- Sachin Tendulkar:
He has been ranked as the second best batsman following Sir Don Bradman and also the second greatest ODI batman of all time after Viv Richards. He has been a part of the winning Indian team in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. He has had a tremendous contribution to the sport. Almost every other batting record belonged to him. He is undoubtedly one of the best cricketers of all times!
- Vivian Richards:
Widely regarded as one of the best cricketers especially in the ODI format. In the year 2002, Richards was judged by Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack to have played the best ODI innings of all time. The man has always had a charm in playing cricket in the most graceful manner and effortlessly.
- Imran Khan:
He was undoubtedly one of Pakistan squad’s most successful captain, leading the Pakistan team to victory in the year 1992 in the Cricket World Cup. He also served as the captain of the team for the years 1982-1992. He is one of the eight world cricketers to have earned the title “All-rounder’s Triple” in Test matches. On 2010, Khan was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
- Wasim Akram:
Akram is known for being one the greatest fast bowlers. Holding the records for most wickets taken with 881, he is considered to be the first person to start with the reverse swing bowling. No one in cricket history has played with the ball better than the man himself!
With great talent, comes great responsibilities. It was no easy task for these men to keep up with their talents and always portray their best. It requires dedication, hard work and the will power to keep moving forward, with the attitude that nothing can break them. Their confidence and belief in the fact that they are amazing at what they do is what keeps them going.
